I used to shoot years ago off of Digger Bay road, was a logging cut on the left a couple miles up the road, don't know if you can shoot there anymore. Years ago Redding Gun Club when it moved to Seven Lakes didnt have a rifle range, but apparently they do now (100 yards). You can go to the BLM land east of Cottonwood.
Only the designated area at the top of the hill is open for shooting though.
Access at the end of Jellys Ferry road and check map at info station.
Just joined Tehama Shooters in Manton, great place to shoot but private club and closed Monday, Tuesday and most mornings on the weekends (during competitions).sigpicComment

Swaysey is still open to shotgun shooting. No rifles or handguns.
Iron Mountain is always packed with idiots. I'm tired of having to hit the dirt.
Redding Gun club has their pistol range set up RIGHT bellow the shotgun trap range so you get peppered with shot and clay parts while shooting.
I didn't know about the club in Manton...might have to hit them up.
Its getting down right disgusting trying to find a place to shoot here in Shasta County....Murphy's Law - What can happen will happen at the least opportune momentComment

hm, i drive up to shasta co once a year with the family on the route of our road trips. next time i head up ill send you a pm... maybe we can go to the range or just have lunch.
