I just buy it on Midwayusa.com and have it delivered. i'm 95% sure the stuff Fowler's in orange is crap and don't think Ade's carries much in the way of ammo.

Thanks for the info. I just keep seeing Coyotes in my back yard, and while I would never do anything illegal, I just want to keep my options open.

Almost everything 'match' will be subsonic (less than 1100fps). Wolf Match Target and Match Extra should be around 1040-1080. Federal 711B is 1080fps.

Eley Club Extra is 1080fps. SK should be 1040-1080.

CCI Standard Velocity is supposed to be 1070.

Your best bet is to just go to a store with 22LR ammo and read the specs on the side of the box. If the MV is less than 1100fps, you should be good to go.

Don't they have that .22 ammo with no gun powder, just the primer to set it. I hear it hardly makes a sound but not good for any distance more than a few feet. Maybe you can sneak up on a coyote and do a close hit.

The subsonic 22 stuff is really scarry accurate.

I bought these to play with:
Cheaper Than Dirt! is America's Ultimate Shooting Sports Discounter, and we live up to that title. Expect bulk ammo deals, discounts, gun care accessories and more

Makes it extremely quiet but won't work the slide and the accuracy is ****. I think I would prefer a CO2 pellet gun.

You should be able to get it these at Sears or a home improvement store. They use these in certain types of nail guns.

those are the aguilla super collibri's linked above... about 500 fps and pretty quiet out of a rifle. i shot a few boxes through a S&W 22lr revolver (2" barrel) and it was still pretty loud...

The super colibri's are ~550 fps with a 20 grain bullet. The standard colibri's are ~350 fps with a 20 grain bullet. Both are so quite in a rifle that you can hear the firing pin strike and then the 'thwack' as the bullet hits the target. Out of a pistol its a little louder than a cap gun. I shoot these in my back yard (backs up to the golf course). Neither has enough to take down a coyote. Squirrels, rabbits, rats, mice, at short range yes, coyote no.

Some of the air rifles can drop a yote and are pretty quiet. If you ware going to try the SS rounds look for the 60g .22 rounds they are really quiet and pack a little punch. Also you need to use them in a revolver or bolt/leaver action. The sound of a semi cycling makes a ton of noise. So using 10/22/ MKIII or the like is a waste.

There was some stuff with the case length of a .22 short but a longer bullet that made the overall length that of a .22lr. I can’t remember off the top of my head what it was, but it was pretty quiet out of a bolt action and very accurate out to 50 yards (maybe further but that is the range distance I was testing it at). It also had better penetration than a standard .22lr which was most likely due to the bullet weight. I wouldn’t hesitate to use it against a coyote if I had to and it was close enough.

Stay away from that stuff that just uses the primer. I tested that also. It isn’t that accurate and knocked plastic bottles over at 25 yards rather than going through them. It would just sting the yote. Though if you want super quiet, the firing pin was louder than the round I think.
I think your talking about the same thing as me check it:

                              4.49 a box from midway
