Ha! Wonder if they will be willing to pay the "safe roster" extortion fees California imposes!

Make the Secret Service us these

I think the first adopters should be the secret service.. you know those guys protecting the president. Or would that be like mandating that all dot gov elected officials andthe ilk all get the same health care and retirment like the rest of us joe smoes.

America should concentrate on equalizing benefits of our lawmakers to what we have and are afforded (in some cases nothing at all).

Get part time legislative bodies with part time benefits and low wages.

And during a gunfight if I slip my finger off the tape thingy I have to re enable the gun. Recipe for getting shot. If I live, sue the crap out of the manufacture.

Guess I can't fault the guy for being an inventor & wanting to make money thou.
Won't be adding to his bank account and will be AGAINST this on any gun.

He'll get a ton of funding from all sorts of anti-gun groups. Then he will either spend all the money and tank, or pocket the cash realizing that there will be ABSOLUTELY NO SANE GUN OWNER THAT WILL EVER BUY HIS PRODUCT.

            What a douche.

relatively simple fingerprint recognition through an infrared reader

A secondary "tape switch", commonly used by police and military to turn on gun-mounted flashlights, is also depressed by the shooter, which keeps the gun in active mode. If a shooter releases the tape switch for any reason, the gun deactivates and a shooter must again place their finger on the scanner before the gun is enabled.
I see so many problems with this among them

              Grease
              Dirt
              Paint
              Solvents
Gloves(not everywhere is as warm as So-Cal)
              Blood
              Cuts and scrapes
              Scratches on the lens
Recoil(tape switch either gets accidentally released, or just thinks it was)
              And many many more

Sounds like this guys head is wedged firmly in his small intestine.

Miller declined to detail how they work, saying it would expose his company's intellectual property.
So you have to take your gun to their company owned shop to be cleaned or serviced.

The new chip-level technology can be incorporated by a gun manufacturer or retrofitted to older weapons by an authorized gunsmith, Miller said.
If it can be installed it can be removed.

Miller said his company's technology has nothing to do with any pro- or anti-gun position he holds
              Looking at his company's motto

"Our motto is ... if we save the life of one child, it's a miracle to that child and everyone that child touches."
a variant of "if it saves just one life..."

I don't even have to guess which side he falls on.

May his company crash and burn spectacularly.
Yes, I am an electrical engineer.
No, I will not fix your computer.

Since Mama Lanza allowed her baby-boy to shoot those guns, they'd be coded for him too. So much for "safe gun" technology.
