People are against facebook because it's like handing a list of gun owners to the government. Those who don't believe that use facebook.

I'm "anti facebook" for a number of reasons.

Too many stupid updates from people I couldn't care less about.

A company collecting as much info as they can so they can sell advertising space directed to me(might as well not make it easier for them).

I can't guarantee the security of other people's facebook accounts. It's great that I can make something private so only a few people can see it, right up until one of those people gets their account compromised one way or another.

I don't need to post a journal of everything I do for people/employers/government to see.

Probably a few more reasons that I can't think of off the top of my head. Making a social networking website "for gun owners" doesn't resolve any of the above mentioned issues.

Registration is free and only requires a name, street address, photo ID, fingerprint, and list of guns owned including their serial numbers!

I just joined. Looks like a potential neat source of info, but I'm pretty much up to date on legislation, news, etc. I hope this turns into something awesome, but so far it seems to mostly be "updates" of motivational pics and slogans that I saw months ago. If I can't find a way to disable notifications, I will be deleting my profile by the weekend, though.
