You can take pics at Chabot... but ask the RO first when you sign up to shoot at the office......they will then advise you to make sure you only have the subject in the pic and not anyone else not in your group....

one of the reasons I stopped going to a certain range was the photo takers

Yah.. i don't want to be in the background of pics (for many reasons). If I see a flash I always make sure I'm not in it. So if your going to take a pic make SURE everyone in the pic consents.

The average person in an average day gets their picture or likeness taken perhaps 60 times. Look around carefully tommorrow when you are out and about... banks, atm's, gas stations, intersections, grocery store..., etc... you may not have your weapons, but your picture has been taken...

Not holding an AK or AR...

I don't mind people knowing I own these firearms but being a college student in califronia I don't want to have to deal with issues(and unfortunately there would be issues) of a picture of me holding/shooting such a weapon.

I don't mind people taking pictures of me otherwise... I often try to get in the backgrounds of pics when people are taking them... often making making funny gestures/facial expressions

Sad times we live in indeed but that's why we need to change things.

Why should I need to explain myself if the picture shows no illegal activity?

Why should I stop reading my gun magazines at school when I am breaking no law?

The issues are not mine but are those of others.

As a secret agent for a covert gubment agency, you don't want undesirables finding out that you're trained in handling tactical weapons.

I suggest wearing a disguise to the range.

I've successfully taken photos at Reed's, Target Masters, Sunnyvale Rod & Gun.. I don't take pictures of other people and I don't take a lot of pictures. In general, I think it is poor etiquette to take picture of people you don't know, blatantly, without their permission. Now, hidden in some bushes zoomed in, that's a different story..
