Alright so after reading all the new gun laws California is trying to pass I'm getting scared ****less. I've been saving some money to purchase a new firearm but I'm not sure on what to get. So far my collection consists of a Mossberg 500 , Stoeger coach gun and a Marlin 336C. I'm thinking of getting a Springfield 1911 Operator because I don't have a pistol but also from what I have read is that pretty soon it will be illegal to purchase a magazine fed semi-auto rifle. i don't want an AR but was thinking of purchasing an M-14 or a M1 Garand. I'm not too sure who makes a good M-14 some suggestions would be appreciated. All in all I'm just not sure what to purchase next. Lookin for some advice. Thank You

Springfield makes a good product at a reasonable price (some will disagree with me on the price issue). They also have very good customer service. Can't go wrong there.
As for the the M-14, Springfield also makes those, and they too are nice.
Not trying to be rude, or anything, but I believe the M-1 Garand is technically a clip fed semi auto. (And a fine gun.). Not that they won't try to ban those too.
Good luck!
IBFPSorry, not sorry.

Just get an AR15 OLL receiver. You can get the rest of the parts later. You won't regret it in the long run IF they do ban it.
As for M1A Springfield is fine. You could also get a Russian Saiga .308. An AR10 might also be a good option. Good Luck.Comment

Toss up. You're right about mag Feds, but the supply of garands is finite, and their costs will only go up, especially if mag Feds are banned.
Look at used M1as, I grabbed one that looked unaired for less than new.Originally posted by tony270It's easy to be a keyboard warrior, you would melt like wax in front of me, you wouldn't be able to move your lips.Originally posted by repubconservPrint it out and frame it for all I careOriginally posted by el chivoI don't need to think at all..XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOriginally posted by pjsigYou are talking to someone who already won this lame conversation, not a brick a wall. I would recommend getting a pistol since you don't have one yet. Springfield 1911 is good. Kimber is good as well. Not sure what your budget is though
Amother one I would recommend is a revolver so you don't have to worru about magazine fed firearms. S&W 687 or 586 would be my recommendation then.
Good luck OP. Tell us your budget and we can help more. One Way to Post Pics ********** How to Submit an iTrader Rating That Counts ********** Brass for Sale
