With some friends from out of town. One of them brought his Kimber eclipse. I am now in love with that gun! I want one! Don't really want to spend $1800, but it is an f'n tack driver. Wish I had remembered to take pictures. Next time.

Go for it, if you can find one. We got one a couple of months ago and it is, by far, the best shooting gun I've ever shot. And the best looking one.

OP, Kimber Eclipse shouldn't run you $1,800. I saw one here selling for $1,100 or $1,200 LNIB.

When I picked up my Kimber Tactical Custom II in January, I picked between that and the Eclipse. At that time, which WAS during the panic, it was selling brand new for $1,250.

Now go get one and use the $550 savings on ammo

If you want to spend $1800 on a 1911 then skip the Kimber and go for the Les Baer. It is a MUCH better pistol.

I have a Kimber and it was back to the factory twice and they still never replaced the defective frame (rails are not parallel) and just gave me crap about being unworthy to even question them. The rails mic out as being wider at the front then the rear of the gun. The play this created is what caused me to send it in and it was never properly addressed.

Ruger and Para have both stepped up for me to replace guns that were defective out of the box so I know it's possible but unlike them all I got from Kimber was crap.

Now since the OP doesn't want to spend $1,800, Kimber Eclipse is a great choice for well under $1,800. Haven't had issues with any of my Kimbers (Raptor and Tactical Custom)
