    Range Kits

So besides the basics like guns, ammo, ears, eyes and targets, what do you bring when you go shooting? I'm going to be going a lot once CA lets me out of timeout and I don't want to be stuck unprepared. I imagine some screwdrivers and maybe some cleaning supplies? I'll be shooting my new Tracker 627 and I'd like to assemble a shooting "tackle box". What's your setup?

(I understand some posters might be inclined to make comments about a proper gun or something, so I'll just say I've beat you to it)

Swiss army knife with a million attachments, cleaning supplies, change to get a coke, batteries for my laser, extra hearing(i double up sometimes plugs and over the head), different tint glasses, lint free cloth for scope, roll of duck tape, little flat boxes to pickup brass, and a few midgets to carry it all.

I have a "Range box" that I got from Midway, it's just a big plastic box with a built-in cleaning kit, I toss in a staple gun, a brass hammer, a plastic hammer, a screwdriver set and gun-specific tools, some CLP, my eye and ear protection (and backups), and a spotting scope. Loaded ammo goes into an ammo can, empty brass comes home in same can/

Eyes, Ears, extra ears, some basic tools (hex wrenches, multi tool, barrel lights, flashlight, knife, etc), small cleaning kit, staple gun, target dots, and some small 8.5x11 targets . I also carry a small first aid kit, couple of bandages with some antibiotic cream and a decent sized gauze pack.

All this fits into a decent sized range bag with plenty of room for ammo.

I am planning on adding brass rods suitable for .22 and .30 caliber rifles when I get around to it plus some kind of hammer (brass, probably).
Check back later for a witty comment.

                Why the hammers?

A couple of bottles of water, since I like to stay for 4 or 5 hours at a time, plus a roll of black tape and a roll of biege masking tape to patch up the holes on my target between each line break.

Sunscreen, little pre packed lens wipes to clean shooting glases, .38 ammo to put through that revolver.

Also masking tape to patch holes in your targets, and woven tape for your fingers for multiple day shooting (and patching no shoot targets)

Patches, CLP, solvent and silicone cloth for quick maintenance

Spare parts and spring kits for broken parts

                      Magazine brush

                      Tooth brush

                      brass punches

                      Bushing wrench

Spare set of eyes and ears (different glasses for day and night/indoor)

All of the above, plus paper towels and wet wipes so I can clean the powder residue off my hands when I'm done. And a small ice chest with some water and soda.

Brass hammer for drifting out pins, plastic hammer in case I need to hit something. Haven't needed to yet, but I leave them in the range box more because if I don't leave them there, they will get lost, and I won't be able to find them when I do need them!

Some times a bolt just won't come open so a hammer might be useful. Of course, it wouldn't be my gun I would be pounding on. Brass hammers won't damage steel but I wouldn't count on the finish being in good shape afterwards!
