    Help me make a decision

So I got a little cash burning a hole in my pocket and I can't decide what to buy I have narrowed it down to two things either a condor quick release plate carrier or a streamlight tlr1 what should I get

    TLR-1

    28
    Plate carrier

That punk pulled a Glock 7 on me. You know what that is? It's a porcelain gun made in Germany. Dosen't show up on your airport X-ray machines, here, and it cost more than you make in a month.

    Hmm , Carrier > flashlight?

Plates aren't too expensive, and you can carry a flashlight in your free hand for awhile till you get the mounted one later.
What's more beneficial to keeping you alive? Armor all the time or a light sometimes.

But I usually go by "if the SHTF tomorrow , which would I rather have" .

A flashlight vs a plate carrier. That's kinda like asking should I eat a steak or go to the zoo.

I think you'd use the flashlight more. Just saying.

I assume this will be your first gun mounted light.

Why I voted for the TLR1. Otherwise, get the vest.

Light would be more useful unless a SHTF.

          .

I know plates can be found relatively cheap? Yes but I don't plan to buy them as of right now if I decide to get the carrier it will be more of a work in progress that I add things to little by little until I build it up
By the "what's more beneficial to keeping me alive" standard when someone bad guy breaks into my house the light would be more beneficial than the plate carrier
Could I just carry a light in one hand and a gun in the other? Yes is it easier to just grab an all in one package to go defend the homestead? Yes
Then on the other hand would a plate carrier add to my cool factor? Yes
Could a plate carrier be more useful in a shtf scenario? Heck yeah!

I realize I am not comparing apples to apples but the light is around $100 and the carrier is around $100 and I have around $100 and I want both so...... It's more of a apples to apple juice comparison question

I have a weapon mounted light on my AR and I have a few surefire hand heald lights and a cheap pistol light but this would be my first quality pistol mounted light

I voted for the TLR-1 because I just bought one a couple weeks ago and love it.

I own both, and they are both worth the money, but you'll get more use out of the light unless you do a lot of run and gun.

I plan to put it on a full size gun and I think the mini light looks funny on a full size gun also I have no need/want for a laser

I run a tlr4 on my full size USP 45 and it looks fine. It is bigger than the tlr3. I'll post picks of my usp and my Glock 17c with a tlr 1 tonight side by side. The tlr 1 extends past the front of the gun while the tlr 4 is flush. Plus you can turn the laser off of course.

I'd honestly say that I think you'll get a lot more use out of the light.
