    What is this?

I was at the concord flea market about a month ago and some dude was selling a bunch of old gun stuff. I snapped a picture of what looks like a stock bit I am not sure. Help me out with this one.

Sent while driving at 80mph, eating a Big Mac and using my knee to steer.

It kind of looks like the stock for a C96 Broomhandle.

Not sure because of two things:
    1) The notch/open-end on the rear of the stock seems larger/longer than the notches shown for most of the stock pictures on the Google Image Search (GIS).

    2) The pushbutton at the rear of the stock has that circle recessed feature around it which too, is also different from most of the stock pictures on the GIS.

That is a shoulder stock/Gun case for a Luger pistol.
The rear opens up to carry the pistol, and once the pistol is out it attaches to the shoulder stock.
I believe it was made for the German artillary?
          Not positive though.

Same concept but the one I saw was plastic.

It is a shoulder stock for a soviet Stechkin automatic pistol. These shoulder stocks (both wood and plastic versions) were imported a few years ago--they are usually priced at around a couple of hunderd bucks--as there are no transferrable Stechkins and no semi-auto versions available either.
