New (Old) XDm vs New (New) model differences

Hi. I just picked up an unused but older model XDm. The slide serrations are straight, not chevron shaped. As far as Google knows, and I can make out, the other features of the pistol are the same but I haven't read anything conclusive. Does anyone know if they changed anything else? I think the serrations changed between 2009-2010. Thanks for any help.

Thanks. Your link is very non specific and not helpful. I have read several threads there already. In fact, Google was very good at finding that site. And before someone puts it up, I have read the wiki page on XD as well. Usually there is a direct comparison or chart somewhere that lists the evolution of these sorts of things. I have not read anything that directly addresses any feature changes in the model other than the shape of the serrations.

I think the point of the link was to steer you towards the right direction that has a plethora of XDM information. You have to remember that the XDM is not on the CA roster, so there's only going to be a select number of owners with them here on Calguns. And most likely, those same owners are also on XDtalk.

I do specifically remember reading about the serration differences on XDtalk a few months ago, but I don't feel like searching for it from my iPhone right now, but it's there.

Sorry, I don't do spoon feeding. The answer you seek is in that forum, you have to be willing to do a little work for yourself.

If you ask the question over there, someone may lead you by the hand - but they aren't any kinder if you're not willing to make minimal effort.

Thanks for trying to help. I am not trying to be spoon fed. I am looking for help. I have done quite a bit of searching already and couldn't find the answer, hence this post. If someone has knowledge of this or has a link I might have missed I would appreciate it. If you are trying to help by not helping then why bother?

Are you comparing XD to XDM? I own 2 XDMs in California and never heard of two versions of XDM. Search for M factor for the differences...http://www.the-m-factor.com/html/innovation.html

Only the very early XDMs had the straight serrations and that would be the 4.5".
When I bought my 4.5" 9mm I specifically asked for the "fish gill" serrations.

ETA: There's another link, and another post in the previous thread I linked to, that state the serrations changed when the 3.8 came out and all following where changed to the Chevron serrations. The 3.8 was announced in December 2009. The XDM came out in 2006 I believe.

Thanks. I Read that one. I'm wondering if there were any other changes besides cosmetic, it's tough to tell from what I've read.
