Termite Tenting and Gun Storage question.

Going to get my house tented pretty soon. I know my gun safe isn't airtight and was wondering if the gas they use could be damaging to my firearms? Just trying to figure out if I should pack them up and take them with me for a couple of days. Thanks for any info on this. c good

I had some blued guns in the house when mine was tented about 10yrs ago, and they came through in perfect shape.

That said, I'd be more worried about somebody from the pest-control company stealing your stuff. The get free reign of your house while they're setting up the tents, plus your house is left completely open/unlocked during the entire time it's being gassed. The new thing is for the scum-sucking thieves to go into your house while it's tented (wearing a suitable respirator) and rip off all your valuables.

We got tented last year. I took all the guns out of the house as well as anything else I could get space for elsewhere. As stated above, I was more worried with theft than damage. The stuff they use these days seems pretty good about not causing damage.

As long as it is in the safe, the chemicals won't hurt your guns. I would me more concerned with the workers bragging down at the bar after a few drinks about the guy who lives at XXX street in XXX town with all the guns. It does happen as I have heard those conversations at bars.

          Completely immaterial

It's going to coat your guns. Do you want to pick up anything coated in that? Do you want to rest your cheek on that stock?

If that doesn't bother you, then feel free to worry only about damage to the guns.
