Fast & Furious Collateral Damage With A Happy Ending

Fortunately the jury saw through this nonsense - didn't take them very long either. Note the article mentions this type of prosecution was related to Fast & Furious, and that this has been going on all across the US.

Some info to identify the case
NAPLES — Antique and Military Mall owner Homer Helter and his wife, Diane, strode into his Antique and Military Mall in Naples, just hours after he was acquitted Friday of federal gun-selling and conspiracy charges.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

Most are upset the case was built on the word of a paid informant who lied to gain the men’s trust, shopping for guns with a “fake wife and son” and secret video cameras. Jurors didn’t know the star witness had been convicted of murder and attempted murder and assault, all in aid of racketeering, in a case sealed since 1998.

“Here’s a guy who gives everything to people and here’s a murderer and attempted murderer testifying against him,” he said. “It was like the devil was prosecuting Jesus Christ.”

awesome thanks for sharring this is the first I heard of this ...
Laws that forbid the carrying of arms... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man. Jefferson's "Commonplace Book," 1774_1776, quoting from On Crimes and Punishment, by criminologist Cesare Beccaria, 1764
