    Bolt Carrier Group Coating Questions

Is nickel boron the best, or is ceramic the best.

If the nickel boron and ceramic were same price which would you buy.

    Can someone explain the ceramic?

I've heard nickel boron is the current "best" finish in the circles I run in.

However, if you just keep your bolt carrier well lubed with high quality lubricant, it'll run just as well IMO.

Nickel boron is extremely smooth and wipes down clean with a paper towel. Doesnt need lube but would do you better in the long run to lube it. Plus it looks good.

best for who and what type of shooting is the question. The military stopped using SS due to cycling issues and wear on the uppers. While the NiBn BCG is more resistant to corrosion, whats the benefit if you keep a clean gun anyway?

If you are the type to doesnt want to clean...then other parts are going to wear out.

If you are the type who wants to blast 1000 rounds a weekend, why chance killing your upper, when the standard BCG is what is recommended by the guys who do blast 1000 rounds a week as a matter of protecting lives.

If you want a cool looking BCG, and want the best most expensive BCG...you found it. The true benefit is in the sales pitch, not its use.
