    Scope Question

Just got a smokin deal on a LEUPOLD MARK AR RIFLESCOPE 3-9X40 MILDOT Reticle
Other than the the BDC dial pre-calibrated to match the ballistics of most 55 grain .223 Remington/5.56mm, is there any reason it shouldn't/couldn't be used on a Weatherby Vanguard2 .30-06?

No problem at all. All BDC features will obviously not correspond. However, the mil dot reticle should work. What is the dial calibrated in, mils or MOA? per "click" that is.

you can build a range book that converts the dials to your desired trajectory.

                Nice...matching turrets and reticle.
If you have any scopes with 1/4 min turrets and a mil reticle, You can cancel the 1/4 minute adjustments by placing tape over the cap and drawing a small mark every 7th 1/4 click, and a large mark every 14th 1/4 minute click these new marks now represent .5 mil and 1 mil respectively. granted, .25 x is 1.75 and .25 x 14 is 3.5...but close enough for minute of deer.
