    What Year First DROS?

              But there was a time when you didn't have to DROS (ie register) private party gun sales..

              So, I could see you at a gun show (or the range).. hand you cash and take your gun.

                      Private party sales were free until around 1991. Before that, there was a waiting period for new handgun sales, but long guns were cash and carry.
                      As librarian said, new handgun sales have been registered for almost 90 years.

                              Many of the long arms I have today I just walked in the store, filled out the paperwork payed at the cash register and took it home with me.
