I'm guessing those are for 22's or handguns, but not for rifles.
Rifle rated dueling trees usually run upwards of $600 or so and are seriously heavy duty.

says its good for up to .30-06.

how much would a decent set of steel swingers or just a single steel target cost?

shooting my svt-40 at a pistol target stand, it shot and killed it, took out the "standing" post 3/8 x1in took it out the loong way through.

if you must shoot the 7.62x54r at steel,
buy the best out there or it will die a early death.

7.62x54 is very similar to 30-06.
I'll bet you they have some obscenely long minimum range spec when it's used with rifles.
Using it closer than the minimum distance will damage the plates or the stand.
          Get one and try it.

If it does not stand up to the use, you are only out $100.

"good for 30-06" does NOT necessarily mean the targets will survive.
Every car on the road is "good for 30-06", but only the brinks trucks will fully resist 30-06.

A lot of the surplus 762x54 is steel core which would be pretty tough on steel. I shot a steel plate that was almost 1/2" thick with some steel core at 100 yards. The round almost went almost through then came back at me. I could hear it whizzing as it went by real close. I don't shoot those plates anymore. Mark

have dirt as a backing...and lots of it.

at 100yards the rXr ties will get chewed up at the point of impact......
                ask how i know.

I bought my steel plates from the metalman. the plate and stand cost a total of about 180$. that 500 brinell plate has taken hits from 22lr up to 50bmg and shrugged it all off.

if you shoot at that dueling tree expect it to become swiss cheese.

The steel core is mild, and blunt. The steel jacket will be more of an issue.
