If your safe temperature is ~colder than the outside temp, you will get condensation all over everything when you pull your firearms out of the range bag. (safe was at ~60 deg, went to the range ~90 deg, pulled out my rifle and it started sweating)
Go with the golden rods, the reusable desicant is good - but it won't stop condensation when you take something out of the safe.

+1 also do the same method.

I've run a Goldenrod in my garage safe for 25 years. Temperatures in garage as high as 105 to lows of 30. I get into my safe probably every other day. No rust formation whatsoever. As stated earlier, cheap insurance. Go with a dehumidifier rod if you have a handy outlet. You plug it in and never have to maintain anything. No maintenance, my kind of device!

I use 3 of the Wireless Mini Dehumidifiers. Humidity stays at 42. Safe temp around 72 depending on the season.

Same. I get mine at the dollar store about once a year 5 at a time for $5. I did however, just order an Eva Dry E-500 to throw in there as well.

That's what I'm using and it works great. Uses 1 AA and has lasted me for over a year now on the same battery.
Good call! Just ordered one of those too.

Which model are you referring to specifically? There's quite a few on Amazon.

I'm using this one here. Just checked and it's actually $9 right now with free shipping (I have Prime) so I may just pick up another one

I have a smaller safe, but with a 12" Goldenrod and an Eva-Dry 500, my humidity stays at a constant 42% and my temp is at a constant 76 degrees.

Bull Frog Emitter Shield - change once a year.

Yep. That's the one I ordered too. I only wish I had access to an outlet in my closet so I could use a goldenrod too. Oh we'll, with the humidity gauge, I'll know soon enough if the desiccant and Eva-dry will do the job.

Perfect feedback on Amazon. I use in locked safe, goes 9 months before turning indicator color. Oven recharges. Will last years, so I'm told. Fits on upper door shelf in StackOn door. Never seen any hint of rust.
