Virginia mother shows real bravery in the face of "gun violence"

For all the bloviating about Gabby Gifford's "bravery" in standing opposed to the thing one would expect someone in her condition to oppose without even trying hard, THIS MOTHER shows the real thing. My heart goes out to her, and to everyone involved.

A northern Virginia couple has a message for the man who shot and killed their 16-year-old son: They don't blame him. They forgive him.

Sorry if this is a dupe. I searched, but couldn't find anything.

Yup. Both houses look like my brother's house in Manassas, which I probably couldn't pick out in the daytime if his car wasn't parked outside.

When you find an intruder in your house in the wee hours of the morning, that's not the time to do an interview. Failing to open fire on sight could cost you your life and the lives of your family.

Sad? Yes it is, but this does not belong in 2A.

According to other reports, the neighbor not only told the guy to leave, he fired a warning shot -- and then only fired the fatal shot when the kid walked right past him and headed down the hall toward a bedroom in which family members were sleeping.

The kid has to have been stunningly drunk.

Um, thanks, but I didn't do anything wrong, stupid.
It was not a threat. It was an exaggerated response to an uncompromising stance. I was taught never to make a threat unless you are prepared to carry it out and I am not a fan of carrying anything. Even watching other people carrying things makes me uncomfortable. Mainly because of the possibility they may ask me to help.

You are correct, he didn't do anything wrong. Still, credit is due to those parents for not blaming the shooter and threatening a civil suit, etc. Or crying out with some anti-gun horses**t right away.
