    Colt to Bolt Connecticut?

Probably a dupe, but I could not find another report of this news:

Colt's Manufacturing, the company that has made the iconic gun dubbed "The Peacemaker" for more than a century, could pull up its Connecticut stakes after coming under fire in the national debate over the Second Amendment.

President and CEO Dennis Veilleux said the pro-gun control climate that has taken hold in the wake of the Sandy Hook school massacre and other firearm attacks has left him feeling unwelcome in the state his company has called home for 175 years. Proposed laws being debated by the Legislature and pushed by Gov. Dannel Malloy include a new gun offender registry, an expanded assault weapons ban, ammunition restrictions and a ban on bulk purchases of handguns. Veilleux said those measures have put Colt and its nearly 700 employees in the crosshairs.

To me a lot of CA and northeastern companies should haul butt out.

    Power is cheaper in Texas
Housing is way cheaper in Texas
Buying a new commercial building is cheaper
Building permits are a simple pro business process
    Workers comp is way less

I really do not understand how any manufacturing stays in CA and the northeast
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

If Colt leaves CT, I'll buy a new Colt to support them. Their new guns aren't 1/2 the quality of their old ones, but a fresh factory deserves a fresh start.

Colt is a union operation, BTW. Doubt many people know that.

I feel pretty much the same way...but.............if they put their money and political clout into fighting for civilian 2A rights, they will get me to drink their Kool-aid.

I grew up in CT and still have family living there. Always thought of going back there 1 day but jumping from 1 liberal cesspool to another doesn't sit well with me anymore. Back in the early 90's, I was back there on vacation. The legislature's public safety commitee was having public hearings on banning assault rifles. Gun clubs from around the state sponsored buses to bus gun nuts, including myself, to the state capitol to voice their opinions. I listened to about 300 pro-gun people speak and about 5 antigun. Guess who won. Those azzoles totally ignored the pro-gun people. F'k 'em!!

I will not buy firearms from any business whose main customer is a government agency. because in the end, they will always side with the government. I'm ok with firms selling to local LEA's (as long as LEA's are subject to the same laws as us), but when they're a federal government contractor, and without that they're pretty much dead, then they're not our friend.

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.

HK hates civillian gun sales. They will sell to Mexican drug lords, militaries or law enforcement agencies but tend to tell us unwashed who are not of the former three to pound sand, thier business model is, "We're HK, **** you, pay us."
It's widely known in the firearms industry that they HATE civillians or anyone who can't purchase from them in mass. Colt may not be as bad as HK but they treated us like dirt for the longest time until they realized they will be losing the military contract SOME DAY. To that, eff em. There are plenty of other 1911 companies who push a better product for the same price and same thing from their ARs. The sad reality is that they were once the standard that everyone else had to keep to but now people flock to them because of their name. Still make a decent rifle and handgun but not enough to save the sinking ship.
If they treated us better, I'd support them.
