    Las Vegas over spring break...

Will be headed to Vegas for 3-4 days over spring break, and I'll probably be taking my guns--one of which is a bullet-buttoned rifle--and a bunch of ammo.

What should I do while there (other than take the bullet button off), where should I go (gun shops, ranges, open land), and are there any considerations about crossing state line with firearms?

Obviously, I'll want to make sure everything is buttoned up and secure again before coming back into CA, but what are NV laws about transporting firearms?

I went to the clark county shooting complex when i went. Its about 30 min from the strip.

Their range goes out to 200 yards. Its about 7$ for the day.

I took my 30rd rebuild kits and put them together at the range. When i headed back to CA i took them apart.

And i used the mag magnet when i was over there.

Unloaded and in a locked container is legal method of transporting firearms in NV.

Having a loaded handgun in a vehicle is legal in NV, as long as it is not "concealed upon the person".
"concealed upon the person" equates to being on a person or in a portable container (purse, bag, case, pack, etc) that is near a person. Exemption to this is having a valid conceal carry permit or the firearm being unloaded & in a locked container.
Therefore, it is legal to open carry the loaded handgun or have it in plain sight (on the seat/dashboard) or concealed (under the seat, in glove/utility compartment).
It is not legal to have a loaded long gun (rifle/shotgun) in a vehicle.
