'Gun Free Zones' are nothing more than "Target Rich Environments" for people/criminals intent on doing evil or committing a crime.

It's a no brainer that if you armed (properly screened and trained students with CCWs) that campuses, malls and EVERYWHERE else would in fact be safer... but facts and reality have NOTHING to do with the way anti-gun morons think or act so I will be shocked if this (student CCW) is 'allowed' to happen.

I'm pleasantly surprised that even the concpt of allowing students to carry is being openly considered/discussed. I just hope it happens and then (at some point in the future) at one of the schools that allows CCW, that a student stops one of these crazed wackos before he can get very far into one of his shooting/killing sprees.
If you know how many guns you have... you don't have enough guns.

People need to remember that the same guys who wrote the 1st Amendment, also wrote the 2nd Amendment... and for the same exact reasons.

Of course a normal person with a handgun wouldn't have been a match for the psycho at Virginia Tech. I mean.. he had the element of surprise and two guns!

Of course, real life is exactly like movies and video games, and you can wield two handguns simultaneously to great effect... And the fact that a person who is carrying concealed has an equal element of surprise (since the gun is hidden) means zip.

I really wish stupid was more painful. Does that witch not realize that there were people who tried to fight back, but were unarmed and died for it!? One person with a handgun could have saved 30 people. Hell, if they could have saved five or even one, it would have been worth it!

Element of surprise my ***. It takes more than a few seconds to kill 32 people with handguns.

I love how the grief stricken mother says you're paralyzed with facing an armed criminal. Therefore police officers and members of the armed forces must not be human.

As been pointed out above, Utah and Colorado both allow CCW on campuses and have had zero problems with it.

CA law actually has an exemption for CCW carry on campus in the penal code. The problem is two fold: (a) in most places it's near impossible to get a CCW license and (b) many schools have a 'no weapons' administrative policy which means they can expel you if you carry on campus with a permit.

Was it just me or did that report actually seemed to lean towards pro-carry (or at the least was unbiased)? The lady with the crazy ideas about wielding 2 guns and element of surprise got about as much talk-time as we'd expect a pro-gun talker to typically get.

              Not lean towards pro-carry -

Notice the airtime for the gun wielding people but no real interview time.
Notice the Interview time for the anti-gun agrieved mother.

I feel badly for the mother - but, this is another Sarah Brady approach, if guns are illegal there wouldn't have been a shooting. Another ill-informed source.

My point exactly. No information is provided about her yet she speaks as her words are the truth and yet people will believe her.
