                I wouldn't doubt it - I've run into some really nice folks who get excited about their toys and make these sorts of mistakes (like wanting to pull out their pistols in the range parking lot to show them off and BS) that are 100% innocent mistakes, they forget about the "we live in CA" part of the social/legal issues. It just happens, and you handled it perfectly - just invite him to the local range and shoot that sucker up.

                  You did right, starting off the school year by having your collection confiscated, expelled and probably having to defend yourself in court is a bummer....
