    AB 134

AB 134 Author: Assembly Member Dan Logue (R-Chico)

This may be old news to some of you but I just came upon it a couple minutes ago.

It seems Calguns has struck a nerve, and we have a politician that takes exception to the fact that Calguns is trying to keep the CCW process on the up and up.

I guess Im just going to have to contribute a few more bucks this week to Calguns foundation as it is obvious their efforts have an adverse effect on the powers that be, and that makes me feel ecstatic and generous.

I don't know if it's so much that the sponsor has a problem with CGF trying to keep the LTC process on the up and up (I don't know anything about his 2A positions, though). On first blush the bill seemed to be a response to the whole business of newspapers in NY trying to publish the names and addresses of firearm permit holders; if LTC holders' info can't be made public through public records request, then that info can't be published.

According to this video, his goal is to protect the privacy of law-abiding LTC holders. He probably just didn't think it through and realize that it would mess with CGF's efforts to secure LTC reform:

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!
