    Meet my little friend......

Found a Remington 24823 at Vallejo last weekend, so I just had to do it.
CA AOW legal! Going to change the grip though.

Please explain how you got the AOW status cleared for PRK. Is this a C&R issue or what?
        By the way nice piece.

In regards to Short barreled shotguns, there is an exemption from the SBS-prohibition for federally-defined and federal-permitted (with the proper tax stamp) "any other weapons". That 870 is considered an AOW if it never had a shoulder-stock and is cut down to <18".

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

I really want that. There should be a thread in layman's terms on how to obtain one.

There is a thread with all the info, http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...ad.php?t=82693 . Read that thread and ask questions if anything needs clarifying.

Basically, find out if your CLEO will sign-off on a Form 1 or Form 4. If not, then create a trust or corp/LLC. Trusts/corps/LLC's do not require CLEO sign-off since they are a legal entity.

Buy a pistol-gripped shotgun that has never had a shoulder stock. Submit Form 1 with $200 to make AOW. Wait ~2months for approved Form 1 to come back with $200 tax stamp. Make sure the firearm is engraved with your info before you cut down the barrel.

If you could find a NFA dealer/manufacturer, you may be able to buy an AOW already made with a Form 4. And an AOW Form 4 only costs $5. But right now, the NFA dealers in CA aren't familiar iwth the AOW exemption, so you may have problems finding someone that can help you.

D a m n!! Nice shotty! I'm jealous. The short barrel justifies the pistol grip.

Wow, I wouldn't mind something like that. I have no use for it, but when has "usage" even been in the equation(other than to convince the wife)??

Hey man, we're all allowed to own novelty guns
Lord, make my hand fast and accurate.
Let my aim be true and my hand faster
than those who would seek to destroy me.
Grant me victory over my foes and those who wish to do harm to me and mine.
Let not my last thought be 'If I only had my gun."
And Lord, if today is truly the day you call me home, let me die in an empty pile of brass.
