Has anyone used one of these new polymer lowers? Ammo bros has some for sale $99 - $119. Do they hold up ok?

Thanks for the heads up. The take down pin holes and the buffer tube threads worried me.

            Do tell.

            How many have you owned?
            What brand?
How long ago did you purchase?
            What broke?

Interested because I've owned 3 and so far none have given me any problem what-so-ever.

How long do Glocks, Springfield XD's, and any other pistol platform that uses a polymer frame hold up? The amount of stress that is placed on your AR lower is MINIMAL! I would venture to guess that you could even shave a good amount of weight on your rifle by switching to one.

                1. If the stress is so 'minimal' on the lower then why do the ones that break fracture where the receiver extension mounts?

                2. The weight savings is paltry.

                3. The price savings is paltry because I can still find lowers for less than $150. I recently found a place with a lower where my friend only paid $120 for a JD.

                4. The current crop of lowers are just aluminum AR copies that lack the reinforced areas that the Cavarms had.

                5. Polymer pistols have these things called steel locking blocks and inserts that keep the slide on the gun and not in your face.

Y'all keep being cheap and desperate by using those substandard polymer lowers. If one of you eat a BCG in the face don't say I didn't warn you.

Someone did a really nice ultra lightweight AR build one time. IIRC it was just over 4 lbs. Pencil 16" barrel, Ace ARUL stock, etc. I'd love to see an ultra lightweight polymer AR build.

Polymer lowers that are made from good polymer are OK for general range use.

My first one is serving up 800+ rnds right now with a Colt upper,
My second is on about 250 rnds with a stag 2h upper,

I've had one FTF with a cheap can of Herters ammo. I'm using Troy 30 rnd rebuilds, 30 rnd USGI rebuilds, and numerous Colt 20s and a variety of mags. I am glad I got them, and those bashing them probably had a bad one and are now free to label them all.

Oh and if one of mine does break the manufacture will replace it. Lifetime!
