    anyone else see rob leatham?

so i decided to go down and check out the san jose gun show and was not surprised to be let down. i believe there were two vendors showcasing minimal amounts of AR accessories/parts, etc. even the ammo was on the pricey side for a gun show. so i left, wanting to fill the void and decided to head over to reeds. i walk in the door and see rob leatham. that was surprising to say the least. him and his springfield cronies are there for the weekend with specials on the XDs, 1911s, and M1As. its funny....i dont follow competitive shooting in any shape of form, but when i saw rob i immediately thought "pro bowler." hehe, i dunno....activity level for both is about the same. except you can drink when youre at the bowling alley

What kind of deals did they have on the guns if you can remember the prices?

hmmm, i dont really recall. i just stood around and stared at the M1As hoping that by staring really really hard, i would convince myself to drop 1500 bucks. and then i had a little reality check and figured 1500 dollars was basically two more ARs to the collection.

you know, from what i could gather, the pricing seemed to be better than usual but nothing great. everything was between 5 and 10 percent cheaper...so maybe like 100-150 bucks or so off the M1As and like 50-80 off a the 1911s (of course depending upon model). i guess the savings would cover the tax

I wondered if all of Springfield would be there. I've suddenly become interested in their 9mm 1911, but haven't been able to see one anywhere.

I've seen RL before a few times do some shooting demonstrations at Raahauges.

I have had the pleasure of watching Rob shoot at the 2004 steel challenge in piru as he was squaded in front of me. I actually out shot him in the shotgun speed shoot but he is awsome with a pistol.

The competition shooting community is pretty small. If you shoot any decent match, you'll see plenty of GM's. There's several GM's that regularly shoot at Norco.

They did have the 1911 9mm for sale. Asking price was $799.00 Reed's usual rip off price is $909

They're hard to find because they're only made about twice a year, supposedly. You shouldn't have to pay more than about $689 or so for a new one.

On Target at Laguna Niguel. I've seen them on GB also. Someone on THR or GT or somewhere had one for $550 used just a few days ago.

Don't bet on them having one in stock though. They're a rare find.
