I just sold a lower to a buddy in Arizona. What am I required to do to make it happen? I haven't ever sold a firearm out of the state. Thanks

I've been wondering the same thing. My brother is out of state and wants to buy one of my handguns. I could use the money to go towards my first 1911. I'll be visiting him in a couple months and was wondering if I could just take it with me and sell it to him without going through a dealer. (Cash an carry where he lives). If not, I might just wait unti I move back there late this summer. Haven't done much research on it yet since it's just an idea right now. Sorry, not trying to thread jack OP, just in a similar situation.Originally posted by MezcalfudBecause a Glock looks great in the case and then when you take it home it feels like you're holding a Costco pack of Kielbasa. -
Both cases must go to an ffl. A ca resident cannot sell interstate without going thru or to an ffl whether c&r or modern firearm. You cannot buy out of state either without having firearm shipped to ca ffl.Comment

If he is on the west side of Phoenix (Glendale/Peoria) I can do the transfer for $25. If you mail it directly instead of using an FFL in CA I can do the transfer for $100. I can email a copy of my FFL.sigpic

1) Find an FFL in Arizona that will do the transfer. Find out if he will accept the firearm directly from you, or if they want it shipped to them from a CA ffl.
2) You buddy goes to the AZ ffl, does the paperwork, etc.Comment
