non CA approved handguns

I just found out that one of the guns I've been firing for the last year or so is not on the California handgun roster. I always assumed it was since I bought it from a gunstore that's seems to be on the up and up. I only found out when I was bored and flipping through the roster last night. It wasn't listed!

So can I get in trouble for owning this? Can it be confiscated? Can I send it for warranty work out of state and not worry about the company refusing to ship it back?

I've also seen un-rostered guns being sold at various shops around town occasionally. Don't want to name names though. Whats up with that?

The Roster applies only to some sales out of dealer stock. It has nothing to do with ownership, use, or moving/bringing into the state.

That's a relief. This gun needs some warranty work. Don't want to cause any trouble doing so(Registering the warranty requires listing down the dealer name).

Guns fall off the roster all the time. It could have possibly been on the roster when you bought it. Altough I know gun stores that have sold off roster handguns to non-exempt people, they probably assumed they were on-roster.

The gun is a newish model so I doubt it was ever on roster. It doesn't even have a loaded chamber indicator so I doubt it was made to be on the CA roster, although it did come with a gun lock. How would a store get an off-roster gun from the manufacturer in the first place?

oh and does not having a loaded chamber indicator make this illegal?
