Is the gun panic coming to a slow down?

We all know it's still very hard to find an AR and at a good price and many semi-auto handguns such as glocks and M&Ps are still hard to find especially in 9mm. But it seems like supply is catching up and demand is slowly going down. Ammo prices are slowly going and going out of stock slower. "high cap" mags are saying in stock longer. I believe Palmetto State armory has had their D&H 30 round mags in stock for about 3 days now so far. Prices on lowers on websites such as Impact Guns have come down slightly. Is the worst behind us? How long do you think until prices and supply are back at normal levels? I think at this rate by September things should be back at normal are even below. Thoughts?

After the 2008 panic I think it was about a year before it really returned to "normal". This time is a bit different because the panic is more justified with a number of draconian laws actually on the table and Obama doesn't have to worry about reelection (the threat is more real this time).

Depending on what legislation passes, the panic can swing back up. This could especially happen in California... So consider this like a brief respite, I don't think we can say that the panic is gone for good...

Even if most laws fail (and/or courts strike them down), I'm not sure it will ever really return to how things were. While prices will eventually come down from where they are now, the maket may always be just a bit more expensive than it was in 2010.

Nope. It will be a year before we start to see normalization.

It seems like things are starting to stabilize. Lower receivers and ammo are slowly becoming more available but bcgs and barrels are going to be on back order for a while.

Ammo is NOT going out of stock slower..

            Guns however are getting better..

That, and the fact that everyone is trying to sell their guns at 150% of what they got it for, or what the msrp is on it. Lots of outrageous ads in the Classifieds.

I paid almost twice that today, but there was a lot of stock

                  It's always been outrageous

                  I'm not paying $800 for a Glock.

Like we're running out of Glocks.

when gun owners run out of money to spend on guns and ammo it might get a little better. until then NO.

                          I don't think it's over.

Look at the lowly Mosin, a gun many people used to think was ugly and would only sell when marked down @ Big5.

Now the online stores can sell a 1000 copies in a matter of mere hours. (See AIM, Classic) And the prices are roughly twice as much as pre-panic. Mosin sales are a feeding frenzy, better have your 03 ready to go, you have no time to "think about it overnight." The next morning the cupboard will be bare again.

IMO, we as gun owners are condemned to endure a "Boom & Bust " cycle , because the catalyst for the spike were legislation proposals by anti gun pols. As such, I don't think we can call the panic "over". Rather, we're just in the downside of the trough before the next spike. So long as Obama and Biden are still in office, it's just a matter of time until the madness happens all over again.
