    MidwayUSA and Backordered Products

Just curious if anyone knows how accurate MidwayUSA's dates are for when they expect to have backordered product back in stock. Ever since SG I have been hesitant towards these dates. Thanks

I normally just wait because you pay a seperate shipping charge anyways.
Lord, make my hand fast and accurate.
Let my aim be true and my hand faster
than those who would seek to destroy me.
Grant me victory over my foes and those who wish to do harm to me and mine.
Let not my last thought be 'If I only had my gun."
And Lord, if today is truly the day you call me home, let me die in an empty pile of brass.

yea i wanted to order a couple things that were backordered

and i wanted a scope they had in stock they wanted 10 for the shipping of the scope and $10 to ship the back order

luckily i just checked and they had a sale on the simmons scopes and were out so i was able to cancel the first order and then order the origional back order items and then add the scope that is now on backorder

as to the have by date pretty much expect to add a week or two as i think that is there best possible scenario

I ordered a Kreiger barrel once that they had on special and they said 30 days to deliver. After 30 days they said 45 days, after 60 days they said 90 days. 4 months and one day after I ordered it, they delivered the barrel.

Use their 'notify me' feature for out-of-stock products. They send you an email when it's in stock so you don't have to pay double shipping.

I don't bother. They posted a 3 month wait for a 15" 405 Winchester T/C barrel, when the ship date arrived they automatically backed it up another 90 days.

I ordered a bunch of stuff a couple weeks ago with ~2/3's of the order not in stock. I received the shipping notice today. Was kinda getting antsy since it's reloading stuff but the wait wasn't bad.

The dates don't seem to be accurate at all. I called them on it once and they said that those states are given by the "vendor/manufacturers"... If they don't come in, then Midway just bumps it up to the next "expected" date.

Their back order dates seem to change. I ordered some needle files from them last year. I eventually cancelled the order since I found some files elsewhere. I now have a Belt Mountain #5 base pin on back order for my Ruger Blackhawk. The expected date has already changed once. I'll wait since all venders that I'm aware of seem to be out of them at the time. They are a first rate company to deal with so when looking for online shooten accessories, I usually start with them.

All of these cases where the backorders take an extreme amount of time to ship are 99% built to order items. Specifically barrels. You're better off just ordering your barrels direct from the manufacturer or gunsmith. Gun parts and some holsters tend to be low quantity stock items depending on the gun part and respective gun.

I agree that their backorder estimates are inaccurate. Your shipping costs end up costing more because they don't calculate their shipping as one order, but as two separate orders.
