Out of state resident

I'm down here from Oregon working and was wondering if I can purchase a weapon here from a dealer or friend? I haven't had a chance to go down to the gun shop and just ask.

No. You have to be a California resident to buy a gun here. Same for us when we visit neighboring States.

You can purchase a gun from a CA dealer and have it sent to your local dealer in Oregon who will have you fill out the necessary paperwork. I don't know why you would want to do that, since Oregon has many more models of guns available for purchase than CA. You can also buy a gun from a private individual and have him send it to you local Oregon dealer.

Just like CA residents can buy from out of state, it just has to go thru a CA FFL dealer...
