    HELP! Transfer Non-sense

    My First Post

I have a deal with a Tx resident to purchase an H&K P7M8 (Crazy Money!), which is on the Kalifornia DOJ approved firearm list. My FFL guy says gun must be shipped from Tx FFL, no problem right?

Seller calls me and says he spoke with 5 gun dealers in his area and none will handle the transfer One dealer hung up on him when her heard Kalifronia...

WTF - Try to do things the right way and this BS happens

I'm open to suggestions, there must be another was to skin this cat

Ship to CWS in El Paso,Texas, then ship here to your local FFL. Ask Hecctor PIRATE14 "CWS vendor"

Check with another FFL here. Many don't require that guns come from sending FFLs since the BATF doesn't require it.

I'm in Los Angeles if someone knows an FFL who can help me...

          Thanks!

x2. Federal law only requires the recipient be a FFL holder. Your buddy can just go down to the post office/ FedEx / UPS shop and ship it himself to your FFL of choice. (Federal law, however, requires handguns to be shipped via overnight / next-day service.)

            Option 2.

Fly or drive to Texas. Bring the gun back with you. When you return, print the registration document off the DOJ website and send it in with a check for the required amount and rest easy.

This is bad advice. Under federal law, residents of different states may only transfer a handgun between each other through an FFL in the state of the receiver (subject to only a couple of exceptions). DOJ registration of a handgun other than through a DROS by an FFL is only appropriate for instate intrafamily/operation of law transfers, an out-of-state transfer due to bequest / intestate succession (i.e. you inherited the gun from a dead out of state relative or other person), or out-of-state acquisitions by a C&R license holder.

The above does not constitute legal advice. I am not your lawyer.

Since mymonkeyman replied about option 2, I'll hit option 1.
A private individual cannot ship a handgun through the US postal service. Only a licensed dealer can to another licensed dealer through USPS.
