how has the last 4 months affected you'r

personally i have cut back on the type of guns i own or want. i want plenty of ammo for what i have. sold a Mauser and a savage in 223. i had less then 200 rounds for each. trying to be happy with what i have and the ammo i have. i can go for about 5-6 years shooting every month.

I tried 3Gun, thought about an AR, decided to jump on the bandwagon and buy an AR, and now compete as often as my range has 3gun. I have loaded up a bunch of 223 ammo and also a bunch of 30-30 with my own cast bullets to save money when I am plinking. I just loaded up 70 rounds of 460 mag ammo last night after getting back from the range. My 45 colt and light 460 mag rounds will also use my cast bullets to save money.

I may need to buy more primers in a year

To notabiker : It's good to be happy w/what you have. I myself just got back in to firearms after a long brake. Now trying to enjoy once again the sport. Sold almost everything 20 yrs ago, and the restart is tough. I did restart about 12 ,months ago, but shooting has become a disappointment w/the shortage of munitions, 22lr being the biggest bummer of all. Oh well, I guess just be happy with what you've got. P.S. If Carolina senator Grassy want to run for office, he could do some real good for the cause. What do you think ?

Hasn't really affected me much as I had started stocking up after O's first election. I still shoot and have bought several weapons along with ammo. Did have to look harder to find the ammo but it's still out there at pre-frenzy prices.

I did buy a PTR91GI (that I had been kind of wanting but had talked myself out of) that I found at pre-frenzy price along with some ammo for it.

One advantage to the frenzy is that the last two weapons I bought were paid for in ammo.

Not much. Traded some .22LR to fill some holes in my stockpile. Scored some primers at a very fair price I might not have otherwise driven 200 miles round trip to get. Traded/sold some brass, gifted some to help get a couple of n00b reloaders started.

Actually, my timing has been extremely fortunate. I DROSd my SSE 1911 at Direct Action Solutions on Dec 14th. Bought a bunch of magazines in November (wish now I'd bought more).

To CTG80 you've seem to have a nice collection, and being able to reload is a plus. As I said earlier I've just started back to the game of firearms. Last year purchased 3 new guns. 1st picked up ruger 1022 TD, put tactical stock, Bravo sites new scope, also a new Springfield EMP 9mm, and lastly a Colt LE901-16s 308, and still looking for the right optic system for this. OK on ammo, but the wife & I are not shooting it till it can be replaced, so range time is extremely low at this time. But hey fishing season is here now, so will do that !

A slightly off subject, any one going to BIG RENO GUN SHOW in April. I went before the election and meet some great people. Also found a few fair deals on things I was looking for, but wondering what it mite be like now ! Any comments would be appreciated. Also magazines have been none exisitent as of late, and in Cali it's the 10 rounder that king, and have not been able to find even 1 for my LE901 (308 ). Dose anyone think I could acquire a couple of these at the BIG RENO ?

OK that's a bit far for you, it's about 210 mi for me, but last time I went, it was, and to this day the largest/biggest/hugest firearm show I ever went to. In all the years add up that I attended these shows, ( about 25 yrs ) all Cali shows, this one show is larger and has more stuff than all put together. I'm just hoping that it's still a super event.

                      Back to the subject.
I have not changed anything. Still shoot most weekends. Still reloading with stuff I have had for a number of years. Still have ammo bought long before the panic. Have over 30K of 22RF that I bought when it was $9.97/550 round box that I can shoot if the centerfire stuff gets low.

Have all the firearms I have on my want list. Except for maybe a 338Federal chambered rifle and possibly a 17Fireball rifle.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

Not much, I still go shooting atleast once a month but I should've bought another handgun like the wife told me to do prior the S.H. shooting.

Like Dano, I also just got back into the sport/hobby about a year ago after a 20+ year absence. My first disappointment a year ago was finding out that so many guns where not legal for sale in CA. (I had never heard of the Roster) Once I got over that I was able to acquire quite a few handguns this past year and I've enjoyed shooting them all.
Since four months ago I've bought four more handguns and I still go shooting but with the price of ammo nowadays I shoot more .22 and re-loads than before. I have been thinking of hoarding ammo but don't want to contribute to the panic buying which is in my opinion part of the reason why prices are so high to begin with.
