The beginning of the end for shortages

The beginning of the end for shortages has arrived. Some major retailers on line are showing stock of primers, bullets, and ammo. While these green sprouts will be picked clean, they indicate the backlogs are cleared for some suppliers.

I was in Gettysburg today and saw ammo on a local Walmart near there. Nationally things aren't as crazy.

I'd say we are out of the woods in 3 months barring insane laws being passed outlawing ammo sales in California.

I know a person who works at Fiocchi working 66+ hours per week...with no end in sight.

There is some ammo out there, but it is generally overpriced or limited to how much you can purchase in a day. Price went up as it should with high demand and quelled demand some. But, demand is still outstripping supply in all the popular calibers. .22LR is non existent on store shelves as is 9mm.

There are always some little pockets or you walk into a shop at the right time. I walked into Sportsman's and they happened to have to surefire 60 round mags. Doesn't mean the mag crunch is over.

Some states its even worse then here due to poor distribution logistics.

Yup, must be the end when the only listings gunbot has for 9mm currently in stock are 1 variety of hollowpoints, tracers, and a couple types of frangible.

Actually seeing ammo in stock in one store doesn't mean anything. For all you know it sold out within an hour after you left. Of course you mention that you saw ammo, didn't mention what kind. Lots of walmarts that normally have ammo still have some, if you're in the market for all of the "odd" calibers.

I was talking to a guy who said to buy any ammo you can, get the powder, primers and lead while you can...LOL There is no way I would try to pound out a live primer.

Lucky I have a good stockpile of reloading supplies and some good quantities of M855 and M80!

I'm no pessimist but it's actually getting worse by the week. I don't even bother with stores any longer and even the auction pickings are slim and when available, are going for ridiculous prices. $750+ for 1000 rnds 45 FMJ?

Props to Gunbot. I was in the hospital with my son all week, had a window with Gunbot up and I finally scored 1k of CCI SV from a dealer in Oregon. .22 LR is the Holy Grail right now, very challenging to find. It sold out in less than 20 seconds.
