    Wild Sports scared me today

I went in just to have a quick look of what they had in stock. Walked by the rifle counter, stopped for a about 10 seconds looking at a rifle on the wall, and then it happened. I heard "Can I help you with something?" I was in shock. I looked up to see a new guy that I haven't seen before.

I stammered back to him, "No, just browsing". He responded "Ok, let me know if you need anything." I nodded and walked over dazed to the hand gun display.

I after getting done with looking at the hand guns (good deal on a M&P 340 BTW), I wandered back to the shotgun corner. I leaned over to see if the Norinco 1897 was still horrendously overpriced, and then BAM! It happened again. "Anything I can help you with?"

By this time, I was calculating the shortest route back to the front entrance. Something was definitely amiss. I responded a quick "no thanks", and then hurriedly made my way back to the door.

As a approached it, the young pup behind the register told me to have a nice day. I almost bolted through the door.

Once outside, I scanned the area and made sure no one was following me to my car. I made it back home safely, but now I am a bind. I don't know which agency to report human looking alien invasions too.

On a serious note here, me thinks someone working there has read the large amount of threads dealing with their craptastic customer service. Anyone else notice this?

    LOL!
I have a funny story about asking customers if they needed help. I got cussed out by a customer a few weeks ago for asking someone three times if I could help him. After the second time I didnt think he could hear me over his wife yammering on the cell phone and he just ignored me. so I asked him again trying to make sure he wasnt being ignored. Im used to people ignoring me rudely but I wanted to make sure he heard me. Hell if he heard me and wouldnt acknowledged my existence then couldnt care less but I have had people in the store before where I thought they were just rude and they ended up to be half deaf. I could barely keep a straight face as this customer was trying to yell at me and give me the "you dont talk to me that way buddy" speech. "cant you see Im having a conversation with me wife!?!?" which wasnt happening because she was on the cell phone. Then he cussed out my manager then technically assaulted the cashier and left (its funny how they will be man enough to throw items at a female cashier but never at the gun guys or the managers). We bid him a good day as he left.

Maybe so - it would be nice to know someone in a position of responsibility read the thread and made a change at the store.

That's not too terribly shocking. Now, if you told me that "Mr. Personality" with the beard and glasses in the handgun department actually asked if you needed help, THAT would be shocking!

Happened to me 9 days ago when I bought my Kimber Ultra CDP II.
Helpful w/good information. Gary finished the paperwork though, they were pretty busy.

                HAHAHA!!! "Mr. Personality".

I've bought several handguns from Wild Sports and go there for the ammo if I'm in the neighborhood.

When my friend and I where there to buy his XD40, we had to deal with Mr Personality. I still think "something ain't right with that boy".

All my encounters with Wild Sports employees have been pretty positive though... even Mr Personality asks if I need help.

It's on Greenback Lane in Orangevale. Maybe the word got back to them. Maybe it's the competition with Sportmenswarehouse. I will go see how the service is.

I said it in another older WS thread. Their customer service has improved greatly in the last month or two.

Last time I was in I was acosted twice and asked if I needed help then told to have a nice weekend on my way out with my ammo.

I'm thinking they've read or at least heard about the negative posts here on Calguns.

That's so funny! I had a similar experience 2 weeks ago with the father-in-law. I almost tripped after an employee said "hello" to me as i walked in the door...

Last time(and only time) I was in there, they were very nice to me. Can't say I have any complaints.
