surefire x400 on an ak?

I know they're primarily for handguns, but I have the opportunity to get one at a good deal. Will I be putting this hardware at risk mounted on my ak?

And yes, I know a laser on an ak is pointless.

It won't be at risk as long as you don't mount it above the gas block (ultimak). That location can get too hot.

I don't think it makes any sense to out it there though as then you can't see the sights...

Put it someplace sane and your good to go.
