    moving to sacramento

hey guys I'm moving to sacramento in a few weeks.. so where do I go to get guns up there and to go shooting? I noticed Reno is only a few hours away so I'll be able to run over there with my C&R and that sounds like fun.. but what about right around Sacramento? thanks for the help!

There are several gunshops around Sacramento. Here are a few:

    River City Gun Exchange
Cordova Shooting Center (it's not a full fledged retail store - but has guns for sale)
The Gun Room (in Elk Grove - also has a range)
    Rancho Cordova Guns
    Badger John's

Sacramento is large. What part of Sacramento?

          Downtown - River City
Elk Grove/Laguna - The Gun Room
          Citrus Heights/Folsom - Wild Sports

          There's a shop in Auburn on Highway 49 that's just a 15 minute drive from Roseville/Rocklin area.

The shop Viper395 speaks of is Sportsmans Access. I have dealt with them many times. They are of the higher end type shotguns and rifles but often times they will have good deals on customer trades or consignments. Mike and Walt are good to deal with. hell, I even like Tyler. Located off the Penryn Rd Exit on the North side of Hwy 80.

Old Sacramento Armory, downtown on J Street around 21st or so. That was my local shop when I lived there, is it still in business?

                Nope. Closed last year.

Oh, and if you buy ammo within Sac city limits, you have to turn over your personal info so the purchase can be registered.

If you can manage to move just a few miles north-ish into Placer County, you will have a chance at getting a CCW... otherwise, you're going to be SOL in Sacramento County, unless something changes the political environment in the county.

I cant remember the name of it, but there is a store inside a small outside shopping center at the intersection of Watt and Auburn blvd. Stay away from these *******s. Worst bunch of jerk offs ive ever met. I went in to look at a handgun I was interested in purchasing and stared at in the window for 10 minutes (i was the only one in the store) then another guy walks in and stands next to me and they came right up and asked him what they could help him with. I guess I didnt look like I was going to buy anything.

Hope they go out of business soon. They deserve to with the way they treat potential customers.

They aren't there any more, they picked up and moved to Redding. I quit shopping there when they quit carrying reloading supplies

Is there anywhere good to get reloading supplies in Sacramento?

What counties can you get a CCW in? I am moving away from Sacramento next year, I think and I am trying to figure out where I want to move to.
