    just dumb

    Turners Norwalk,

So a few weeks ago Mid Feb, I meet up with a vet who was in Basra Iraq the same time I was.

He drove from BFE passed ventura and would never be a Turners customer.

We met at the Norwalk Turners.

    I was selling him 2 sets;
    Smith an Wesson Lower Receiver
    Lower Parts Kit
    Stock Assembly
    for 375 each
Great price for last year best price for 2013.
(look at my stats I always sale 1 or 2 things below cost and give military deals)

We did not know each other but we had a common history and I was hooking him up.
He was involved in a major incident in 2009 that I witnessed when I was a contractor COB B,
I was so overwhelmed when talking to him online that I was compelled to do him a solid.

At the Norwalk Turners, after we get there there the fat old guy gray beard/hair - manager in black shirt, tells us to wait on our PPT.

This is the same guy who took our receivers looked at them, checked them in and placed them behind the counter, he knew what we had.

1 Hours goes by, 4 people with numbers after ours go ahead of us by the managers hands, each time telling us to wait.

Finally a new sales girls says who's next I say us ''look at our number'' she takes our ID's and puts them on the lower receivers the fat manager placed behind the counter,

    The fat man sees this and then he approaches us and says;
'' I have this for 150 right now if you want it''

    WTF we waited for that?

He only approached us when he saw our ID's placed on our box behind the counter.

Well my buyer did not want to buy it from turners but this fat manager would not relent. It was embarrassing other customers did not know I was hooking him up I looked like some A Hole price gouging.

I got fed up and walked away from the deal, the buyer I was asking me not to but I could not force that fat man to back down.

Long story short this fat man lost me as a long time customer who had already purchased 8 guns from turners in 2013 alone by Mid February, he lost me for a 1 time sale to a buyer that would never return for anything but the one time to pick up the lower.

I am an avid gun enthusiast I buy guns, shoot them don't like them sale them buy others and so on or buy them, like them, keep them and buy more.

Probably spent 20k at turners in 2012.

I and 68 guys from my shoot group & club have agreed to never shop at Turners again and we have not.

Norwalk Turners Fat old grey haired/bearded manager in black polo you are d-bag of the year in my book.

Yes I told them how I felt in store, online and called/emailed corporate.

Trolls I know you live to crap threads so let the fun begin.

It's a shame you were treated that way, but not all of the Turner's stores and employees are so bad; the one I've shopped at exclusively has been very courteous, respectful and helpful. Of course, I've never done a PPT so maybe that could change their tone. Ultimately, you should've been treated better, so shame on that fat POS. Most importantly, thanks for your service...

How can your $375 price be the 'best price for 2013' when the current retail price is $150 at Turners ??

I realize that you may have been selling them below an outrageous price you paid but it almost sounds like the fat guy was trying to do the guy a favor by letting him know your bargain price was still 250% higher than current retail.

I can imagine the thread here "Went to turners to PPT S&W lowers from a guy for $375. Said he was giving me a deal since I was ex military. Luckily I saw a sign behind the counter that Turners was selling them for $150. Glad Turners is trying to stop some of the price gouging". I can just imagine!

Were the lowers assembled? What kind of parts kits? what kind of stock? Just trying to see where the 375 is coming from.

Whether the OP's price was outrageous or not, I think the real issue is that the Mgr at Turner's was interfering with the PPT. Sure, one could argue that the Mgr was "just looking out" or "honestly just making him aware of a deal"(yeah right). But at the same time, it sure appeared to me that he was trying to use the PPT as a springboard to make more money than he would've by just doing the transfer.

                        ^ + Exactly!

It's not about the price set/agreed upon. It's about the FFL inserting himself into the transaction as well as hijacking the sale. I'm truly blown away by the attitude of FFLs that don't seem to have an issue with making folks wait >hr and servicing people who have entered the store AFTER the PPT pair. FIFO in my book as you never know who the customer (first time buyer, or in this case, deep pocket enthusiast) is and is risking the possibility of losing a loyal or regularly paying customer worth the "PPT waiting" game? Terrible business practice.

A customer is a customer in my book. The $3 bore brush purchase today (or $10 PPT fee) may be the $3,000 rifle purchase next week. I have redirected my purchasing patterns at LGSes for this exact reason.

                          It's Turners shop right?

I agree the wait sounded ridiculous and actually had a similar experience. They didn't try to sell something to my buyer, but they refused to mail a lower to another ffl after telling us they could and then making us wait an hour. Duncan's had it done in about 5 minutes.

                          Duncan's gets my business now.

But, if (and I say only if they had the exact same item for a third of the price) Turners may lose the seller as a customer and pick up the buyer as a new one. Why would anyone be happy about paying so much more than necessary for any item?

Lambert Pawn in Whittier CA. 10 minutes in/out no wait for PPT and they seem to appreciate the PPT's for the exposure. Nice guys, flexible no BS.

Dude enterprise, in Irwindale? Don't they have a bad customer service rep, I never believed it but was a customer there a few times and now agree.

They are kind of rude and charge weird fees for ATM use.
Not the younger kid that works there but they guy in hsi late 20's to mid 30's, Asian guy. He has lied to me about parts/building other guns and stuff and is very cocky and wrong about allot of stuff, I am a contractor in a Small Arms Depot and I am more knowledgeable than most people realize, I usually keep my mouth shut when folks try to feed me BS or dumb sales pitches.

                              Lost my trust.

                              Have done the math,

                              Item + tax + 3% + $4 in fees. . .
                              Not cool.
Called my bank Dec about it, they said that Enterprise should not be doing it on ATM POS transactions but that its ok with Credit Card.

I asked enterprise for a regular receipt when I ever I buy stuff with an ATM card but they will not do it, they will only give you a charge receipt, that is the one that only shows the total amount charged to your card. and not a receipt that shows what you are being charged for; i.e. item, tax, fee. They wont do it, to shady.

For the other folks, please read it in full they buyer was getting a
Stripped M&P 15 lower, Lower Parts Kit, Stock & Assembly, I was probably loosing money.
