Even when legal in CA, people tried this and got nowhere. The recorded encounters still had LEO writing down serial numbers getting names, placing people in the back of cars in handcuffs... oh but they did release the good slave when they were satisfied with the outcome so I guess no harm no foul... :/Comment

I don't think that in most cases it's the cop being a Nazi so much as they don't know the law and are overzealous in, what they see as, performing their duty. I don't think that your average beat cop is that well versed in the finer points of the law, they just know a few things and assume that they're always right and the law is on their side because they're a cop.
A similar issue comes up with DHS and their checkpoints, I just watched a video compilation that's very similar to this video where people go back and forth with Border Patrol agents and not consenting to pulling over for searches or even answering if they're a US citizen or not."Gone to Florida to fight the Indians. Will be back when the war is over."

Glad you know so much about him, and where he lives. You sound a lot like DiFi, and her "infinite wisdom" pertaining to gun laws, and ownership.Comment

That sounds like a piss poor excuse to me.I don't think that in most cases it's the cop being a Nazi so much as they don't know the law and are overzealous in, what they see as, performing their duty. While technically correct, I fail to see a point to this kind of activity.
California does have a "stop and identify" law. It's status is in doubt, having been ruled invalid in one court, yet potentially ruled valid in another case. Most lawyers seem to advise presenting ID when asked by the police.
Honestly, if I saw a guy walking down the street with a gun on his hip, I'd probably call the police too.
There is a way to assert rights and protest constructively. I don't think this helps at all.Comment
