Medford OR ammo,,, not

I'm here in Medford house hunting and I went by the local Wal-Mart and Fred Meyer stores. The ammo cabinets were as empty as in the Bay Area. They had some shotguns shells and hunting rifle ammo but not much.

The Wal-Mart manager told me there isn't any ammo in the entire Rogue River Valley.

Too bad - I'm heading up there later this month. I typically hit the Sportsman Warehouse. I'll be looking for reloading supplies this time I guess.

I was just in Minneapolis, same story there at the Walmart and Bills. Bills a local to Minneapolis chain of gun store/indoors ranges. None of the popular calibers in stock there either. 223/45/40/9mm nonexistent. I've noticed Walmart always has 300 Winchester in stock. Maybe that's the next rifle I should get?
Another observation. An employee at Bills told me that they too were very low on inventory. That may be true, but they still had easily 5x the inventory that any store I've been to in California. The other thing is that they did not have inflated prices. They had a CMMG stripped lower marked 9mm for $179. They also had a Springfield M1a for $1549. That's pre-Sandy Hook pricing.
In some ways things are ****ty all over. I some ways they are not.

I was at the Sportsmans Warehouse 2 weeks ago. No bulk ammo of any kind! Only odd boxes of "rare" rifle calibers. There was a waiting list with restrictions you could sign, no estimates on availablity.
Didn't have time to check Cabelas in Springfield.

Last week in Big R in White City they had ammo in the shelfs

Was in Oregon post Newtown, no ammo in Portland, Wood burn, Clackamas, Springfield/ Eugene and Medford.

Was in Wichita in January for work and saw the thing. Checked Walmart, Cabelas and LGS... nothing.
