Conversion Works!!!

I work in San Francisco and surrounded by liberal co-workers. They found out that I'm a gun owner and asked why. After stating facts with no emotion, I invited them to go to the range wuth me last night.

Started with a rented .22 off the display case. By the time we got to my .40, all I saw in their faces were smiles. They never knew how much safety was involved. As I kept interrupted them and pointing out what they shouldn't be doing. They commented on how everyone were enjoying themselves but kept a serious attitude of what they were doing.

One co-worker even asked me what was the process of buying a handgun.

To me, the exposure they got opened their eyes to the fact. Vast majority of gun owners are responsible adults and not some lunatic ready to nurder children.

Well done. I always try to get others involved as long as I feel they are trustworthy enough to handle a firearm. It's true that after they try it out, it really opens their eyes to the fact that guns aren't a dangerous thing like they were taught and the only harm can come from carelessness or the one in control of the firearm. I'd say I have about a 90% success rate with converting people. The real trick is convincing them to open up enough to go out just that first time. Far too many people are afraid of the unknown and only go off what the media tells them.

I think "normal" liberals don't really know they're liberals. They just react to everything with un-thought-out emotions.

I had a similar experience. Someone I work with has been regurgitating all the anti-gun media stuff for months in conversation with me. Managed to take them to the range recently and a few weeks ago they mentioned interest in buying a gun for themselves.

I've had similar experiences but sometimes I just get annoyed.

After receiving a bunch of comments or questions all I can say back is something like, "That's what I've been trying to tell you!"
