    Going to Reno//Should I bother?

I'm going to Reno next weekend for my lady's birthday. I was thinking about stopping by Cabelas and Scheels to see if the had any ammo. Has anyone been to any of these places recently? Luckily Cabelas is on the way and Scheels has an outlet mall for the lady or else she'd think I was hijacking her birthday

Was there 3 weeks ago, shelves were barren of all the popular calibers and most accessories for guns.

Was wondering the same. Thanks for the heads up.

I'll at least checkout Scheels and post my findings. Wish me luck...

Google search ammo stores in downtown Reno. I was there last weekend the smaller stores are in stock. Ones off kietzkie road

I was in Cabela's today, pretty bare! Then again, I stopped in there last week and they had about 20 boxes each of various brands of .223, and a shelf full of Federal .22lr. It's a gamble....Just stop in at Cablea's on your way into town, and check others while there. Always worth a look!

Like the previous post stated, I was there Friday - shelves were pretty empty.

Was there at Cabelas last weekend and, yes, it was empty shelves. Decided to head into Reno to the Wild Orchid to see what kind of bolt-on-bazookas the girls were working with over there

Sportsmans will have ammo at opening on Thursdays. That's when the shelves are stocked. They usually have a good selection still st noon. Powder, bullets, ammo etc

You need to get in line when the doors open, My wife was in Reno two weeks visiting her sis, I sent her on a mission to Cabelas and Scheels, nothing.

I think Sportsman's has a 2 box limit, at least they did at the Idaho store Saturday for the .223, I had Mom on an Op there.

No prob! Its kind of hit and miss but you should be able to find something. What cal are you looking for? Normally the truck comes in Wednesdays but the last few weeks ammo hasn't been put out till Thursday. there's also usually a good selection of dies. There were 3 sets of 223 dies when I was there last week.

It's a hit and miss. They get stuff in, but most foot traffic is on weekends.

If you need powders or primers, ask. Some of the stuff is not on the shelves and is out of sight behind the counter or in the back. Nice folks there.

I'm looking for .22lr and 9mm. I won't be sad if I don't find any but I live in a city that doesn't allow ammo deliveries so buying online is not an option. I have to get all my ammo from the marketplace or when I go on vacation which is often
