    Universal cleaning kit.

I have seen so many options for universal cleaning kits. I have .22 12gaue and a .45. I just have no clue what kit to get. I have herd the universal rods don't fit a .22barrel. Any opinions of cleaning kits?
    Thanks

Generally kits or rods will label what calibers they fit.

I just have a bunch of stuff I've accumulated. Get a tackle box, tool box, whatever.

I've found the cheap kits work just fine. No need to spend a fortune on your cleaning supplies. Just make sure the kit says it will work in a .22 barrel.

Or I was wondering if I should by separate kits for each caliber.

Get seperate kits or pieces. If the 22 is a rifle do not buy a kit with jointed cleaning rod. You want a single piece cleaning rod. I use Dewey(rifles) and Pro-Shot(pistols) and they are very good.
Buy patches in bulk and quality cleaners/oils.
One easy way to clean and do a good job is to use Wipe-out. It is the original foaming bore cleaner and works very well.

Wally world universal has worked for me in 12 gauge, 22lr rifle, 38 spl snubby, and 308 rifle.

              no complaints here

I got a Otis kit myself that keeps my pistol calibers kit I got. Really compact and price wasn't bad. I think I paid $30 on Amazon.

Also, perusing through Big 5 they had a sale on Otis Cleaning Kits at about $9 or so for a single caliber if you are inclined.
