    Heading to Elk Grove

Well I'm on my way to Elk Grove, and was wondering if any of you guys on here know of any good gunshops, or restaurants I should check out, I will be there all weekend and will have plenty of spare time on my hands.

Wild bills old west trading company is nice. For food, I would go to "squeeze inn" in galt.

Wild Bill's is my favorite gun shop there. I like River City Gun Exchange up 99 a bit more though. If you want to shoot the go to The Gun Room (pistol calibers and shotgun only).

If you like Thai food then check out Thai Chili. Their yellow curry is good.

If you want a nicer restaurant go to Boulevard Bistro. Reservations may be an issue.

Too bad it is the weekend or you could go to Pizza Bell for their lunch buffet.

Nugget Market is a great place to get a sandwich. A sandwich that was once a special they have made for me several times since is the "Chicken Diablo." If they can't make that then at least get a sandwich with the "Blazin' Buffalo Chicken" on focaccia or ciabatta. Usually they have to slice the chicken fresh since they don't keep it in the case.

If you have a hankerin' for some BBQ head out to Wilton and hit up Big Al's. It's not very far for a good meal.

There is also Mikuni (sushi), Dos Coyotes (southwest), and Paesanos (Italian) all in the same plaza.

Definitely check out the Wal-Mart for ammo. If you park and enter by the propane then you shouldn't have to deal with the madness.

Edit: if you have any other questions about EG, just ask

Another edit: My wife chimes in that JR's Donuts has the best donuts, but I think the donut shop by Salon Eric makes better donuts. BTW, if you need a haircut go there. Tell Megan and Kim that Russ says hi

+1 on Thai Chili, Mikunis, River city gun exchange, and Squeez in!
Todo N Poco is a good mexitalian restaurant on the I5 end of Laguna.
Never been a fan of the gun room.
I haven't been to wild bills in years.

ABC Bakery Near the Pocket/Greenhaven area... Amazing Chinese Baked Buns, BBQ, Curry, etc.

And if you have the time, you should head out to shoot at Sac Valley, it will take 45 mins, but that place is a pretty worldclass type outdoor facility.

MTG is a great shop in EG, but their stock is very low at this time. Wild Bill's has a good selection, but their prices are a bit higher than I like. Avoid shopping at The Gun Room, they have some inventory but are a huge rip off in pricing, even prior to the craze.

If you are a fan of Japanese food, Yoshi's (right next to MTG) is awesome and run by a older Japanese couple. Really good and reminds me of Japan.

For Sushi buffet, Fuji's is pretty good. But the wait to get in is usually annoying.

For burgers in EG, I recommend Five Guys. Smash Burger is decent also.

If you have to go shooting while in town, I'd recommend The Gun Range in North Highlands for indoor or Sac Valley for outdoors. The Gun Room in Elk Grove is a last resort location, as it's only good if you live in the area and need to let some fly without doing any driving around.

If you decide to go shooting, maybe let some of us know and we can meet up? I can always use an excuse to go shooting.

Not a whole lot here in Elk Grove. The surrounding cities of Sacramento and Roseville do offer quite a bit more.

Definately take the Wild Bill's tour. I bought my SSE Sig P238 there last summer (there were at least eight P238's to choose from) and at that time the place was full to the rafters of new and used everything.

Great Sushi if you like the frozen variety. The sushi is subpar as is the service. Save yourself the wait and go to Mukini's. Your stomach will thank you
