History of Gun Control In America

Just curious at what point in our nations history "gun control " became an issue.
When I was growing up 1960's -70's I don't remember it as big as it is today.

    I need a history fix!

The Bonus Marches when armed WW1 vets marched on Washington for the benefits they were promised. The feds were so scared the launched the NFA - it wasn't because of Al Capone et al.

The National Firearms Act of 1934

The Government's side of the story:

The Act was a way for congress to collect revenue off of firearms sales, under the mask of safety.

1934: Great Depression, Chicago Mafia, Chicago Type Writer, ^^what was stated above^^: fear for the children.

At some point, The Huns petitioned the United States against using a shotgun during tranch raids. The shotgun was too brutal for war, and any Doughboy found holding such a Weapon of Mass Destruction would be shot on sight.

I read an article written in the early 1900's proclaiming that the ethical sportsman had no use for a Bolt Action Weapon of War.

The NFA was challenged in 1939 when two moon shiners were caught with a shotgun that had a barrel less than 18". A district court judge threw out the case because the law was unconstitutional. The Feds challenged the decision and the Supreme Court accepted the case. The defendants couldn't be found and their lawyer didn't do his part, but before finding the defendants guilty the court said the 2nd amendment only applies to military style weapons. That pretty clearly shows how ignorant the current state laws are in California.

Reconstitution. It's always been about keeping someone down, whether they be former slaves, Chinese, Irish, or simply liberty lovers. NEVER let them fool you into thinking it's anything else.

Event: Cleveland School Massacre, Stockton, CA 1989

Result: Roberti-Roos Assault Weapons Control Act of 1989, which does not have an expiration date or sunset clause and we currently live under it's absurd language in CA, and the Semi-Automatic Assault Rifle Ban, an executive order banning importation of assault weapons signed by President George H. W. Bush.

"If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks & corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their Fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs."
