    S&W Governor

I was thinking of getting a S&W Governor for my wife for home defense but I've never fired one. I was wandering if one of you more knowledgeable gun experts could give me your opinion. her personal protection for right now is a S&W 38 special.

Can't get it in CA. It's a SBS.

Laws and common sense is all up to interpretation to us humans... and guess what? Humans suck.

Isn't it one of those that qualifies as an AOW ("Any Other Weapon" - NFA 1934) which you cannot obtain as an individual, but MAY obtain through a gun trust? Just asking here, I thought that was one of the perks of having a gun trust. I'm curious and mildly interested in the possibilities.

I think if it's already classified as a SBS it cannot be classified as something else like a AOW... My 2 cents anyway. All the shops I talked to says even SSE wouldn't work on this gun cause SSE or not it's still a SBS... The longer version with the stock and 16(?)" barrel doesn't work either cause CA doesn't allow 'cylindrical shotgun magazines' which is what they describe the revolvers cylinder to be... (morons)

Shot one during my bachelor party (well it was rhe judge version) in Reno and fell in love with it.

        Damn this state.
