Live Gun Auctions in SoCal?

I just signed up on this forum and I was hoping you guys could give me some advice/comments about buying and selling used guns at a live gun auction. I've been doing some research and it looks like there are only a few places that hold live auctions in Southern California, but they only hold auctions a few times a year. I'm more interested modern firearms, not antiques.

Are there any gun auctions around that are held more often? I don't really like buying guns I haven't seen in person off the internet auction sites. Do a lot of people prefer to buy and sell at live gun auctions? Are consignment guns at a live auction less expensive than at a local gun shop? Do you make more by consigning to an auction rather than a local shop? Can you find good deals on ammo and other gear at live auctions as well?

Any additional comments and recommendations will be helpful.

Proxibid.com works with some of the OC live auctions. Try have a firearms and military artifacts section. You can bid right at home. I've seen some guns go for as little as $30. They were functioning but nothing too pretty. Recently the prices have been pretty high but you can catch a deal every now and then. There are some BS fees that go along with it but if you can find a deal then who cares. Some auctions won't ship to CA but nothing like on gunbroker. They have firearms auctions daily.
