    Ammo limits in CA?

Sorry if this has been posted somewhere but I haven't been able to find anything specific here yet.

Is there a limit to how much ammunition that can be ordered online from out of state suppliers as a matter of law or regulation in CA?

I've been ordering large amounts (1000-2000) round orders being shipped to my home as I use at the range weekly.

    Anybody know?

If you still have a place to store it you can keep ordering. Beyond that, I would suggest finding a family member to store it for you and then order until their space it used up too.

My garage can fit a LOT of ammunition. I burn through about 300 rounds per week.

The only limit is your wallet size.

Well, I have more money than ammunition but that doesn't mean I'm going to succumb to the gouging going on. I having luck buying online from auctions but with shipping costs, it's only worth it to order in bulk.

Staying firm on the price per round.

You're not finding anything specific because there is no PC regarding how much ammo you can have stored at home(I think there's some stuff about public transit or something from DOT, can't remember for sure. Might have just been specific to containers of powder and I could be completely mistaken).

As long as you can safely store it, and keep it clean and dry, keep buying.

There are no CA laws that limit the amount of ammunition a non-prohibited person can acquire, possess or transport.

                    However...
There are CA laws that limit the amount of gun powder a non-prohibited person can possess without needing a permit from the CA Fire Marshal. [HSC 12102]

                    Health & Safety Code 12102
This chapter does not apply to any possession or use of 20 pounds or less of smokeless powder, or one pound or less of black sporting powder, provided that:
                    (a) Smokeless powder is intended only for hand loading of small arms ammunition of .75 caliber or less.
                    (b) Black sporting powder is intended for loading of small arms or small arms ammunition of .75 caliber or less.
                    (c) All such powder is for private use and not for resale, and, in the case of black sporting powder, there shall be no gift, delivery, or other disposition to another person.
                    (d) The storage, use and handling of such smokeless and black powder conforms to rules, regulations, or ordinances of authorities having jurisdiction for fire prevention and suppression in the area of such storage, use, and handling of such explosives.

It's out there if you're willing to buy in bulk. Auction sites ten to have the best selections and I've been winning some lots of ammo at decent prices. I do get outbid by chumps who'll pay too much but diligence pays off.

1-2 thousand rounds are for practice. I may or may not know of a guy with a hundred.

Wonder if at some point they could become nit pickers and include the powder in loaded ammo.
