First post? Welcome. Introduce yourself boss.

Obama secretly made a deal with wal-Mart to locate firearm owners. Are you sure that you were not followed on your way home?

            Cell phones can trigger them.

there is no sensor that would detect a firearm and not go off every time someone wheeled in a cart

they purposly made the sensormatic to not go off unless their resonate metal tag gets close

              unmanned metal detectors are worthless

You probably have an anti-theft tag in something you wear that wasn't properly disabled. I've seen it happen before, those sensors aren't metal detectors.

When I was in high school, I used to have a pocket knife in my glove compartment. I didn't keep it there out of malicious intent (zero tolerance), just seemed not to be a big deal and I forgot about it. An announcement carried over the PA, one morning, warned that the local PD K9 was "sniffing" the parking lot for knives, guns, explosives, and drugs. I was worried for a total of 1 second. I then thought: "How would a dog smell a knife?"

Sounds like they wanted to see who would run out to their car.

Probably there some type of sensor on your clothe or on your self where there a secruity device you or anyone forgot to take out. Wal-Mart also use those tiny security device you usuallyfind in cd disc.

                            This.

If it was just being set off by the metal of a handgun, people would be setting it off all the time with shopping carts, car keys, flashlights, pocket knives, etc. It's even possible you got one of those stickers on your shoe in the parking lot that did it.
